Drew Engman Occasional Journal

Drew Engman here. I am a 50-something late bloomer baby boomer. Grew up in Burbank, weekended in Pinon Hills, moved up here to the south western Mojave desert in late late 1979/early 1980. Been up here ever since. I played guitar & sang for a living '80-91, worked, went to school, & now I'm a teacher. Life is good!

Hi, I'm Drew. I was born in Burbank, the youngest child of an acclaimed Disney animator. I collected comic books as a kid, grew into SF and Fantasy in my early teens. I played guitar and sang for a living from 1980 to 2000, then became a teacher. I've been living here in Pinon Hills for 24+ years, married to Vicki the whole time. Life is an incredible adventure.

3...2...1...Happy New Year!

Well, what a year! It has been...devastating and exhilarating, soaring and sinking. Such a mixed melange of experiences, events, and emotional states.

I can't believe the tsunami destruction and death toll ends our year on such a sad and horrible note. Life is so unpredictable and unique. Every individual across this crazy world has such different experiences.

I ponder life as we live it, know it, and think, God is a collector of humanities' each and every minute on earth from the inside out. He lives each moment with us, because He made us, in a sense He is us, and we live and move and have our being in Him. That makes everything count, and shows me a way all things might work for good. Then I thank Him that nothing is lost eternally in Him, and all the elements of existence that we can't possibly see as good here and now, will someday be revealed as steps in a truly universal plan. Wow!
